Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (NSF Anacostia)
Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling has a long and distinguished history in the defense of our nation’s capital. The Navy began testing seaplanes at Naval Support Facility Anacostia in 1918, while the adjacent Bolling Air Force Base has been a Department of Defense asset since 1917. The Air Force base was used to test aircraft during World War II. At the time, it was the only military airfield near the U.S. Capitol.
Today, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling is a multi-functional military installation that supports 17,000 military and civilian employees and their families. Almost 50 units are also stationed, including Army, Marine Corps, Coast Guard units, service commands, ceremonial units and other federal agencies. The 905-acre facility rests alongside the Potomac River and falls under the command of Naval District Washington.
At The Burch Law Firm, our mission is to provide professional legal services for the service members and families of Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. For over 25 years, our attorneys have helped military families throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia resolve legal issues, including family law matters.
Our background and extensive experience ensures that we understand the high level of scrutiny that accompanies a position in the military or government service. What may seem like a minor infraction to a civilian outside the base can unexpectedly escalate to a serious threat to a service member’s career. Civilians and contractors on base can also find themselves excluded from Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, or have their security clearances compromised under the most difficult circumstances. Often these crises arise in the context of a divorce of custody dispute.
Administrative actions can also end your military career over relatively minor infractions. A mere accusation of wrongdoing can put your career in jeopardy. It is at this time of uncertainty that you could benefit from working with a knowledgeable military law attorney. The Burch Law Firm stands up for the rights of military service members and civilians facing unfair prosecutions or hyper-aggressive command action. Working with an attorney to defend you can help your case reach a fair and just conclusion.
When you are facing legal issues on base, turn to an attorney who understands the intricacies of the military legal system. Attorney Larry Burch is a former Navy JAG Corps officer who has experience in military law. Mr. Burch was assigned to the Naval District Washington as a Navy JAG Corps attorney and understands military law and the interactions between military law and family law courts in divorce cases.
The Burch Law Firm firm has dedicated over a quarter of a century to defending service members facing Court-Martials, Administrative Discharge Hearings, Boards of Inquiry, Physical Evaluation Boards or PEB Hearings, and DOHA security clearance hearings. Service members facing medical credentialing committees and stand before the Discharge Review Board or the Board for Correction of Medical Records may also benefit from our services.
Obtaining representation as early as possible during an investigation could be the difference between a straightforward case or one that is more challenging to resolve. It is crucial to work with an attorney who can protect your interests throughout the course of the investigation while working closely with you to thoroughly prepare for each court appearance.
