Ms. Kuksova is an aggressive and zealous domestic relations attorney at the Burch Law Firm. Her practice focuses on representing men and women in a variety of family law matters including: Divorce, annulment, and legal separation, Child custody, Visitation and parenting time, Alimony and spousal support, Paternity, Adoption, Child support, Asset division and distribution, Business and property valuation, Post-divorce matters, Domestic violence and abuse proceedings, Pre-Nuptial agreements, Marital settlement agreements. In addition to litigation, Ms. Kuksova works with domestic clients to find resolutions through mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Ms. Kuksova joined the Burch Law Firm in May, 2015. Prior to joining the firm, she was in charge of the domestic relations practice at Hartel, Kane, DeSantis & Howie, LLP in Hanover, MD, where she acquired invaluable experience in the domestic relations field, supervised attorneys and staff within her practice area, and honed her skills as a negotiator and a litigator.
Ms. Kuksova was born in Moscow, Russia and is a native Russian speaker. Her interest in litigation solidified at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she served two years on a nationally acclaimed University of Maryland Mock Trial Team. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Government and Politics in 2006. Ms. Kuksova received her J.D. at the University of the District of Columbia, David A.Clarke School of Law (UDC-DCSL) in 2011, where she was a Clarke Fellow. While in law school, Ms. Kuksova provided over 500 hours of clinical legal service to indigent residents of Washington D.C. at the UDC-DCSL HIV Family Law Clinic and the Government Accountability Project. At UDC-DCSL HIV Family Law Clinic, Ms. Kuksova represented parents in abuse and neglect proceedings against Child Protective Services and assisted indigent D.C. families in various family law matters. While at the Government Accountability Project, Ms. Kuksova assisted nationally recognized Whistleblower attorneys in litigating Whistleblower and employment law matters as well as worked on campaigns that helped bring awareness and improve Whistleblower protection laws on federal and state levels.
Ms. Kuksova is a long time Washington D.C. resident and is involved in various community organizations, especially in the neighborhood of Columbia Heights, where she resides with her puggle Dash.
