Joint Base Anacostia–Bolling is home or work for 17,000 military service members, civilian employees and their families. It hosts 48 tenant units, including ceremonial units (the USAF Honor Guard, USAF Band, USAF Chaplains, the Navy Ceremonial Guard), various Army, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Joint Service commands and other DOD and federal agencies including the White House Communications Command and the Defense Intelligence Agency.
Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling is located in Washington, D.C. just minutes from the U.S. Capitol. Due to its location and the high visibility work performed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, its personnel are frequently subjected to a higher level of scrutiny. Legal issues arise for service members (and their dependents) as well as for civilian employees that could adversely impact a promising career. Larry Burch has been working for personnel living or assigned to Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling for 30 years.
